On 11.30.2017, general manager Norman Graube took over the operational management of our Chemnitz location.

Norman Graube, a native of Stollberg, has already achieved a great deal in his still young hydraulic career. At the age of 33, he now takes over the operational management from Lutz Hientzsch, who commences a well-deserved retirement on November 30.

A brief portrait.

After completing his studies to become a technician for energy and automation technology, and some professional engagements in the hydraulics industry, Norman Graube began in 2015 his career as the head of the development department at Knoll in Chemnitz. Thanks to his know-how in project management, a quick promotion followed to overall project manager for the construction of special purpose machinery (hot press molding). Here he played a leading part in the development of a fully automatic production line for water-bearing reinforced hoses. A short time later he received power of attorney and, as of December 2017, manages the fortunes of the company. An impressive rise in only two-and-a-half years employment with the company.

Mr. Graube, why did you decide for Knoll at that time?

“In my previous company, Knoll was an important supplier. Through this intensive collaboration, discussions came about regarding a career change. I am pleased that my first impressions of a good company atmosphere and varied areas of responsibility at Knoll have been confirmed. Already at that time the Knoll brand stood for intelligent and market-oriented hydraulic solutions. I had to get on board.”

Where do you see the special challenges for the next ten years?

“My primary strategic goal is to expand the Chemnitz site further in the medium term, and to strengthen and consolidate our market position in the region. We will counter the daily price pressure with competent and innovative customer solutions and in this way pull clear from our competitors.”

As what would you describe yourself? And where do your personal strengths lie!?

“Personally, I see myself as a motivator, but also as someone who likes to get their hands dirty. In my still early career I was allowed to independently deal with responsibility. Responsibility with respect to projects and naturally also to the development and production personnel. That particularly shaped me and, in my opinion, was an ideal preparation for my upcoming management tasks. I see my particular strengths in project management as well as in the motivation and leadership of our employees.”

The entire Knoll Hydraulic Systems Chemnitz team congratulates our new plant manager Norman Graube upon his promotion. We are looking forward to getting off to a flying start together with you!
