Retrofit of control technology for an ultrasound washing plant.

A comprehensive, electrotechnical, modernization concept.

As a specialist for complete hydraulic concepts, our Knoll Hydraulik location in Bindlach was commissioned at the beginning of 2016 by a German brand manufacturer of binoculars in both the private and military fields with retrofitting their complete control and visualization technology. The plant is used to wash and dry lenses for binoculars using various cleaning baths and ultrasound cleaning.

As in many companies, there was an urgent need to act, as the control systems were old and spare parts were no longer available.  Retrofitting of the electrical technology was thus an important step to ensure trouble-free operation.

After completing the concept phase, the existing plant was equipped in just two weeks with the most modern electrical technology. A completely new control cabinet including control systems was installed along with three new drive motors from SEW with frequency converters. Furthermore, a TIA portal v14 visualization system from Siemens was used to make the use of the plant easier.
